Level 1 Alpine Trekking Assessment Course
This course assesses candidates on the Guiding skills necessary to perform as an Alpine Trekking Guide.
Candidates are expected to have full knowledge of the topics in the ATG syllabus and may be assessed on any topic of the ATG syllabus at any stage.
Candidates should be prepared and capable to teach and supervise revision sessions and practical exercises.
It is expected that only minimal training need to be given in any topic.
STATUS
On passing an Alpine Trekking Guide Level 1 Course and receiving ratification from the Technical Subcommittee, the participant attains the status of NZMGA Assistant Alpine Trekking Guide.
- A positive recommendation from the 6 day Snow and Ice Guide Training Course
This six day-course will take place in either autumn or spring in a mix of minor glaciated and non glaciated alpine terrain.
