Mark Sedon

Mark is an IFMGA climbing and ski guide with 25 years of experience based in the alpine village of Wanaka, New Zealand. He is one of the few guides on earth to have operated several exploratory heli-skiing and ski touring expeditions in Antarctica. Mark’s an examiner for the International Federation of Mountain Guides and leads private heli-skiing and ski touring trips to all corners of the globe; from Antarctica to Greenland, from New Zealand to Norway, Kashmir in India, Argentina and even to Morocco. He has climbed the world’s Seven Summits, skied the Seven Continents and was the first person to climb and ski the Queenstown Lakes District’s 18 mountains over 2,500m. Mark has guided 25 ski and climbing expeditions to Antarctica and another 20+ expeditions to the Himalaya including summiting Mt Everest. In 2018 Mark joined a ground breaking kite skiing expedition to climb one of the most remote mountains on Earth; Mt Spectre in the Gothic Range of the Transantarctic Mountains. They spent 60 days in Antarctica, travelling over 2,000km with loads nearing 200kgs (440 pounds) each! He is a passionate photographer, sailer and adventurer.
Another area Mark loves, is giving motivational talks. His adventures have thrown up several life changing challenges and ground breaking expeditions to the worlds most remote places.
